Helicopter crash in the USA: Six people have died.

On Thursday, six people on board a helicopter that crashed into the Hudson River just off Manhattan in New York lost their lives.

According to officials in the United States, six people died when a helicopter fell into the Hudson River near Manhattan. The accident, which occurred on Thursday, was reported to involve the helicopter breaking apart in mid-air and crashing upside down into the river between Manhattan and New Jersey. The New York Fire Department stated that they received a report of the accident at 3:17 PM local time. An official speaking to the Associated Press (AP) confirmed that the six people on board the helicopter died in the crash. Eyewitness Bruce Wall reported that he saw the helicopter "break apart" in the air, with the tail and rotor detaching. He noted that the rotor was still spinning when the helicopter fell. Lesly Camacho, a waitress at a riverside restaurant, stated that she saw the helicopter spinning out of control before it hit the water. "There was a lot of smoke. The helicopter really hit the water hard," she said. The helicopter in question was identified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as a single-engine 'Bell 206' with a capacity for seven people. Videos posted on social media showed parts of the helicopter falling into the water and rescue boats maneuvering around the helicopter. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the FAA announced that an investigation into the incident would be conducted. The skies over Manhattan are routinely filled with aircraft and helicopters conducting commercial and sightseeing flights. There are also several helicopter pads used by business owners. The incident has been recorded as the latest high-profile aviation disaster in the United States. At the end of January, an American Airlines plane crashed in Washington DC, resulting in the deaths of 67 people.
