It was reported that photo artist Murat Germen was detained at the airport while entering the country with his wife on the evening of April 9, Wednesday. Germen's lawyer stated that the photo artist was detained on charges of "publicly inciting hatred and enmity" and mentioned that there is a confidentiality order in the case. His wife, Sema Germen, expressed in an interview with the T24 news site that they have not yet learned the reason and that they were waiting at the Çağlayan Courthouse. Sema Germen said, "He was someone who constantly collected information and documents. That's why I think it could be. We generally did a lot of work together related to environmental issues and urban crimes. I am just guessing," she stated. Sema Germen mentioned that there would be a meeting with a unit related to terrorism and the prosecutor, saying, "I got the case number, but right now nothing is clear yet. They have only charged him with inciting the public to hatred and enmity. There is just one charge."
